TEGAM Model 2732 and arbitrary waveforms

Post by hawkbyte »

I am interested in uploading arbitrary waveforms to the Model 2732. I would like to use earthquake records (the earthquake data is in terms of acceleration and time). Is this possible? I haven't had any luck finding examples or instructions online.

James,

There are two ways to create and upload a waveform into the 2732 function generator.
1. Create the desired waveform using the WaveWorks DDS software or 2. Import a *.txt data file of the arbitrary waveform.

The 2732 manual explains how to create and download an arbitrary waveform through WaveWorks DDS.

The earthquake waveform I want to upload is stored as a text file in terms of acceleration. However, the data in the text file that WaveWorks exports is in a peculiar format. Are you familiar with the conversion, or algorithm necessary to convert between the two?
